Nanaimo Judo Club - History by Sensei Mateus

I would like to know  what happened to Brett Watters one of  the best judoca from Nanaimo Judo Club that won medal at provincial and national competition Brett Watters start Judo with Sensei Carlos Mateus in the 80's  He won in Montreal a Medal competing in the Nationals .  Brett Watters made the BC Judo Team but there were no funding for out mainland Judocas to go practice judo in Vancouver. there were no city grants - we rise the funds doing bottle drive, raffle of a load of firewood . Brett Watters Gold medal at the BC Open in Kamloops   Brett Watters brought gold and was the best judoca in Nanaimo with sharp judo throwing technique - most of his fight were won by Ippon or full point  Brett led the way of judo in the 80,s and 90,s followed by Robert Davie , Nick Davie , Teresa Swan - being a small young man Brett had to work hard to achieve his endeavour and that judo energy and leadership deserves recongnation , but his name is not on the Nanaimo J
