Futsal Canada History in Nanaimo , British Columbia : 1986 Canada and Australia First Game 
Organized by the Canadian Futsal Association- Chaired by Carlos Mateus and Leo Beier  The Packed Gymnasium -University of Vancouver Island , was witness of the first meeting between Canadian and Australian Futsal . The Canadian Women won the three games series , gone to history as have won the first futsal international game by a Canadian Women Futsal Team, recorded by Nanaimo Daily Free Press Sports Columnist Mike Rhode - " On the Ball'.. 

I had the pleasure to have Mike in  many times in my Harewood home  in Nanaimo, to talk about the future of the Canadian futsal. Mike really assisted promoting futsal in his sports column _ Nanaimo Daily Free Press.. Futsal lost a great friend,,  a  media person that could tell the futsal history fin Canada from the stardom as he young brother Patrick Rhode played in the Nanaimo League as well as in the Canadian Futsal team,
 I would like to live here my sentiments to the Rhode family .

I am Back in Canada after ten years in Brazil researching the Game of futsal . My finding is  that the Brazilians have mastered the game of futsal  and that is due to the grassroots programs . Kids start to play futsal at the  age of 4 years old in  academies and the game is part of the schools programs , including futsal is mandatory subject  in all   Physical Education Faculties  and private schools along with other olympics sports  Falcao the world best player start to play organinized futsa in Sao Paulo at the age of 14 years old. Nanaimo Judo Club - History of Judo in Nanaimo - Dojo Sensei Mateus

The Nanaimo Judo Club  Dojo Should be Officially  Named " Dojo  Sensei Carlos Mateus " Sensei Carlos Mateus  in 1980  found the dojo  Sanshiro Judo Club at the  Giro Youth  Centre  producing  fine black belts . Sensei Mateus  attending a request from  late Sensei Joe McPeek  shared and  amalgamate of the dojo with the Nanaimo judo club,  that was  struggling to find a dojo  after a flood  on the building under the Queens nightclub - on China  steps , damaged the club straw mats " " Dojo  is a family tradition - Usually a Black Belt when  ready to coach  judo he/she goes  to a Neighbourhood  and found it's own dojo to creating competition "   the rest is History that can not be changed" Futsal Canada Blog is not just about futsal ,  it is about sport and Judo is my first sport . I still brag about a gold medal that I won  in the Brazilian National Judo Team competitions  as well as  have developed the Dojo  that is now the home of Nanaimo Judo c
